WARSAW, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- The Polish branch of UNICEF Wednesday donated 100,000 zloty (about 35,700 U.S. dollars) in aid to earthquake victims in Haiti.
The organization also appealed to the Polish interior ministry to launch public collections for the quake victims.
Hundreds of Haitians died Tuesday as a 7.0-magnitude earthquake, most powerful in more than 200 years, ravaged the island. Thousand more may be buried under rubble.
