MACAO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Macao saw its visitor arrivals in package tours for November 2009 up 5.3 percent year on year to 496,726, according to the figures released on Wednesday by Macao's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Visitors from the Chinese mainland and Japan increased by 9.9 percent and 23.3 percent year-on-year respectively to 365,788 and 22,338, while those from China's Taiwan and Hong Kong dropped by 13.6 percent and 34.4 percent to 27,867 and 22,389, the figures indicated.
In the first 11 months of 2009, visitor arrivals in package tours decreased by 5.4 percent year-on-year to 4.2 million.
Meanwhile, Macao residents traveling outbound in package tours increased by 1.2 percent year-on-year to 20,312 in November 2009, but the figure for the first 11 months of last year decreased by 12.3 percent year-on-year to just 181,090, the DSEC said.
