KATHMANDU, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- CAN Info-Tech, one of Nepal's most visited annual events dedicated to information and communications technology (ICT), opened on Wednesday in capital Kathmandu.
Organized by the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), the expo will run for six days.
This is the 16th edition of the annual event which has been organized with a view to showcasing the latest technological development in ICT and raising awareness among the people about the IT sector of Nepal.
"This is a complete forum to find out about IT and updates in the sector as we bring all types of products related to the information, communication and entertainment technology under one roof," said Suresh Karna, president of CAN. "It is also the best opportunity for exhibitors to promote products."
According to CAN, various brands of laptops, computers, security systems, software, UPS, invertors, mobiles, iPods and digital cameras among others will be available at the event.
And customers can even buy quality products at a competitive price.
At the event, there will be presence of various brands such as Lenovo, HP, Sony, Brother, Samsung, Umax, Sumax, Toshiba and HCL among others. Samsung is also launching its laptops for the first time in Nepal. Likewise, Brother is bringing antivirus, password manager for MAC users, and internet security software for ultra mini PCs.
During the event, 100 exhibitors will display various brands of their IT products in 270 stalls.
