KATHMANDU, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- A partial solar eclipse can be observed in Nepal's sky for three hours on Friday, said B.P. Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory and Science Museum Development Board on Tuesday.

The eclipse will begin at 12:24 p.m. (0639 GMT), Friday from Mahendranagar and end at 3.40 p.m. (0945 GMT) in Jhapa in eastern Nepal, according to the board.

Issuing a press statement, the board has urged people not to observe the sun with naked eye, or by using a regular binocular or telescope during the eclipse as doing so could damage the eye forever.
