Nepal to hold CAN InfoTech 2010 fair

    KATHMANDU, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The 16th edition of CAN InfoTech2010, the largest annual ICT (Information and Communication Technology) fair, is going to be held on Jan. 13-18 in the Nepali capital Kathmandu.

    Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), the organizer, said on Tuesday that the latest developments in the global ICT realm would be the major attractions of the fair. The six-day Info Tech will showcase 238 stalls of over 100 companies. Around 400,000 visitors are anticipated to visit the exhibition.

    Laptops of various brands, cellular mobile sets, digital cameras, iPods, pen-drives will be among the major attractions of the event.

    Electronic and digital devices of renowned brands including Lenovo, HP, Sony, Samsung, Umax, Logitech, Su-Kam, Brother, Kaspersky, Toshiba, and HCL will be displayed in the fair.

    According to president of CAN, Suresh Karna, the price of the devices displayed in CAN InfoTech 2010 will be cheaper due to competition and more offers.

    Karna also stressed that the use of ICT as a productive tool can go a long way in bolstering the economic development of the country.
