SOFIA, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's construction production in November 2009 slumped by 21.9 percent compared to that of the same month 2008, according to the preliminary data released on Monday by the National Statistical Institute.
The building construction, which amounts to 62.3 percent of the entire construction production, lowered by 28.3 percent year-on-year. The civil engineering construction registered a decrease of 8.5 percent during the same period.
On the monthly basis, the Construction Production Index in last November also showed a decrease of 10.7 percent compared to the previous month. The production of building construction decreased by 12.5 percent and the civil engineering production was down by 7.5 percent.
In the first 11 months of 2009, the total construction production was down by 13.8 percent compared to the same period of 2008, with a 18.6 percent fall in building construction and 2.8 percent decline in civil engineering construction.
