MADRID, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish Primera Liga strugglers Malaga confirmed the loan signing of Manchester City's Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo this Saturday.
Caicedo opted to join the Spanish side ahead of English Premier League outfit Hull City.
The 21-year-old will be officially presented to the press and fans on Monday.
The arrival of big money signings Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor at Manchester City pushed Caicedo down the packing order with the English club and he began the campaign on loan with Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon.
However, Sporting fans failed to see the best version of the powerfully built forward and Caicedo failed to find the net in the seven league appearances he made for Sporting.
He will now play a big role in Malaga's battle to avoid relegation from the BBVA Primera Liga as his new club is currently third from bottom of the Spanish League.
