RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Brazil registered a net dollar inflow of 28.732 billion U.S. dollars in 2009, according to a report released by the country's Central Bank on Wednesday.
The good results were attributed mainly to the positive figures registered in Brazil's financial account: In 2009, the account had a net inflow of 18.808 billion dollars, with inflows of 336.257 billion dollars and outflows of 317.45 billion dollars.
According to the report, the trade account registered a 9.924 billion dollar surplus in 2009. Exports totaled 144.666 billion dollars, while imports totaled 134.742 billion dollars.
In December 2009, Brazil registered a net dollar inflow of 1.986 billion dollars. The financial account registered a net inflow of 3.12 billion dollars, with inflows of 39.186 billion dollars and outflows of 36.065 billion dollars. The trade account had a deficit of 1.135 billion dollars, with imports totaling 14.666 billion dollars and exports totaling 13.532 billion dollars.
