WELLINGTON, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Third seed Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium advanced to the quarterfinals of the ASB Classic tennis tournament in Auckland with a win over Ioana Olaru of Romania 6-2,6-2 on Wednesday.

The world number 16 outclassed Olaru from the baseline in their second round encounter in less than 75 minutes.

Wickmayer was entangled in a drug scandal for the latter half of 2009 after failing to report her whereabouts for drugs testing three times.

She will face either French fifth seed Virginie Razzano or Japanese wildcard Kimiko Date Krumm in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Also on Wednesday, Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia defeated Aravane Rezai of France 6-3 and 6-4, with other winners including Shahar Peer, Maria Kirilenko and fourth seed Franchesca Schiavone.
