BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- China reiterated it has indisputable sovereignty over islands in the South China Sea on Tuesday, a day after it unveiled a tourism development plan involving the islands.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said at a regular press briefing that China's sovereignty over the islands in the South China Sea, including the Xisha and Nansha islands, is indisputable.
The State Council announced Monday a guideline on the development of tourism in the southern island province of Hainan, which says tourism will be promoted on the Xisha Islands and some uninhabited islands.

BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government said on Monday that it aims to build the southern island of Hainan into a top international tourism destination by 2020.
The country also plans to develop the only tropical island province to be a platform for international economic cooperation and cultural exchanges, according to a statement of the State Council, or the Cabinet, released on Gov.cn, the official web portal of the Chinese government. Full story
