CHANGCHUN, Northeast China, Jan. 1 (Xinhua)--- 128 disabled skiers took part in the game of the Ridderrenn, also known as the Knight's Race for the disabled, which kicked off Friday at Jingyuetan National Forest Park in northeast China's Changchun City, capital of Jilin Province.

The skiers, who came from Norway, Sweden and China, showed confidence and courage in the competition despite their limitations in physical disabilities, deaf and mute, as well as albinism.

"I, myself, took part in this match and meanwhile the Chinese skiers are facing the Winter Olympics in the new year. I hope that China would grab medals in Vancouver," Chinese skier Cheng Shishuai said.

The Ridderrenn is another Nordic imported cross-country ski event after the entrance of the Vasaloppet in Changchun.

The annual game which can be traced back to 1964 has been taken as a pilot run 2005 and finally settles down here, launching year after year.
