BEIJING, Dec. 30 -- Premier Wen Jiabao has held a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, to welcome Nepal's Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, on his first official visit to China since being elected in May.

    The visit is expected to focus on extending bilateral relations, promoting reciprocal cooperation and creating high-level understanding for future endeavors.

    During the five-day visit, the two sides will discuss increasing China's investment in Nepal, including a hydroelectricity project, and signing bilateral agreements on various deals.

    Madhav Kumar Nepal will also meet President Hu Jintao during his visit.
