Michael Jackson dies at 50 in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, June 25 (Xinhua) -- American pop icon Michael Jackson was announced dead here Thursday at a hospital after suffering a heart attack at his rented home in a wealthy Los Angeles suburb.
The 50-year-old former "King of Pop," whose musical achievements were overshadowed later in life by his often-eccentric behavior and accusations of lewd behavior with young boys, died when he was preparing for a series of London concerts, which might be his last performances on stage. Propofol overdose likely cause of Michael Jackson's sudden death
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- A potent and lethal dose of propofol was the likely factor that induced the death of pop king Michael Jackson, his personal doctor Conrad Murray told the authorities, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.
In a search warrant affidavit declassified in Houston, Murray told the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) that he had kept giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol every night for about six weeks in an effort to treat his insomnia. Full story
