KABUL, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- A suicide bombing killed eight people and injured three others in southern Afghanistan's restive city of Kandahar late on Thursday.
Fazil Ahamad Shirzad, deputy police chief of Kandahar city, told Xinhua that an unidentified man drove a horse cart towards a guest house in the city center.
When police personnel signalled the man to stop the cart for security check, the suspect detonated the explosives in the cart, killing himself and seven other people, wounding three others including one police officer, said Shirzad.
As Afghan law enforcement authorities tighten up check on vehicles over suicide bombing concerns, some militants started to use bicycles or horse carts to launch attacks.
