Thailand reports one more death from A/H1N1 flu

    BANGKOK, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Thailand had one more death from the A/H1N1 influenza, which brought the country's death toll from the new flu to 191, the Public Health Ministry said Wednesday.

    The latest victim was a female, Thai News Agency quoted Doctor Paijit Warachit, public health permanent secretary, as saying.

    It is predicted by experts that the A/H1N1 outbreak will continue until mid-2010, while it is worrying that the new-year festival will worsen the situation, Paijit said.

    The disease might spread due to the public¡¯s traveling during the new-year festival, Paijit said.

    Also, the A/H1N1 outbreak might worsen amid the public gathering at entertainment places for the new-year celebration, he said.

    Henec, the ministry has directed public health stations across the country to warn the people to take precaution steps to avoid catching the disease, he said.
