TOKYO, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar briefly hit a seven-week high in the mid-91 yen level Tuesday in Tokyo.
At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 91.17-20 yen, compared with 91.13-23 yen in New York and 90.45-48 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.
It moved between 91.00 yen and 91.49 yen, the highest level since Oct. 30 in local trading, exchanging hands most frequently at 91.37 yen.
The euro traded at 1.4306-4309 dollars and 130.45-49 yen versus 1.4270-4280 dollars and 130.14-24 yen in New York and 1.4322-4325 dollars and 129.57-61 yen in Tokyo late Monday.
