CAIRO, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Copenhagen conference was a lost opportunity for the world countries to reach an accepted formula for fully implementing the United Nations Accord on Climate Change, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit on Sunday.

    Abul Gheit stressed at a press conference that the outcome of the Copenhagen conference on climate change is not enough to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.

    Abul Gheit attributed failure of the conference on this score to divisions between developed and developing countries over several issues related to curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

    The Copenhagen Accord said the increase in global temperature should be below 2 degrees Celsius, and developed countries should commit to a goal of mobilizing a total of 100 billion U.S. dollars a year by 2020 to address the needs of developing countries.
