MACAO, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao reiterated here Saturday that the central government will remain firmly committed to the principles of "one country, two systems" and "Macao people governing Macao" with a high degree of autonomy.

Central government to confer a pair of giant pandas to Macao: President Hu
MACAO, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao said here Saturday the central government will confer a pair of giant pandas to the Macao Special Administrative Region.
The giant pandas will be a gift to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, Hu said at an evening dinner held by the SAR government. Full story
