MADRID, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- The western coast of Andalusia in southern Spain was hit by a moderate earthquake in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The quake, which measured 6.2 on the Richter scale, occurred at 2.27 am, affecting the city of Huelva. It was also felt in Portugal and the north of Morocco.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 58 kilometers below the surface of the earth and 100 kilometers to the south of Cape Saint Vicente, off the coast of Portugal at 36.48 degrees latitude, 9.97 degrees longitude.
Witnesses say that buildings moved for several seconds, but no injuries or damage have been reported.
