BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Among numerous rumors of affairs the golfer Tiger Woods has had, a permanent breakup may be not far away for him and his wife.
The No. 1 golfer and his wife Elin Nordegren are headed for an imminent split that will likely be permanent, according to media reports Wednesday citing sources familiar with the couple's situation.
Elin has taken off their wedding and engagement rings as shown in photos taken recently. It is considered a public message that the split is coming soon.
When she went out to pump gas without her wedding rings, she knew exactly what she was doing. She could have many other options which she didn't take, such as having others fill the tank for her so that she wouldn't even be photographed.
"No hands shoved in pockets, no hiding. Remember, she's still one half of a couple that has had, up until recently, a most-crafted image. She knows what she's doing," said one source.
However, she won't be one half of that couple for long, according to another source.
"She and Tiger are living separately now, but she'll be making this split very open and official right after Christmas.¡±
Elin is not going to be the kind of woman "standing by her man."
Elin is a strong woman, said the source, and recent incidents are beyond embarrassing. She has a son and daughter to think about, so Tiger has a long way to go for forgiveness.
