Nepal, China to promote friendship exchange

    KATHMANDU, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- With the purpose of promoting friendship exchanges, Nepal and China have agreed to boost up friendly exchange programs in people-to-people level.

    World Culture Net (WCN)-Nepali Center for International Exchange signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries(CPAFFC) on Friday to promote friendly exchanges between Nepal and China.

    A 45-member Chinese delegation led by Jing Dunquan, Vice President of CPAFFC was visiting Nepal.

    Wang Xiuyun, Director General of CPAFFC, and Deepak Sarkar, President of WCN, signed the MoU to promote Nepal-China friendship relations with the help of various friendly exchange programs in cultural aspect.

    "The MoU signed between the two countries deals to increase exchange programs in the sectors of culture, education, economy, tourism, health among others between the two countries," WCN president Sarkar told Xinhua on Saturday at a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal to honor the delegation.

    "According to the MoU, various programs will be organized to encourage China to invest in Nepal's tourism, economic, cultural sectors among others," Sarkar added.

    The delegation, arrived in Nepal on Friday on a three-day visit in the invitation of WCN, is the biggest delegation from China for friendship which came for further understanding on cultural exchange and friendship with Nepal, Chinese ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong said during the welcome reception on Saturday evening in capital Kathmandu.

    Meanwhile, more than a dozen Nepali organizations dealing with Nepal-China friendship relations joined the occasion to promote relations between two countries.

    "The members of the Chinese delegation comprising representatives from different provinces are somehow engaged in friendship and foreign relation courses in China," Sarkar said further talking to Xinhua.
