TOKYO, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar stood firm at the upper 88 yen range Friday in Tokyo.

    The dollar bought 88.68-70 yen at 5 p.m., up from 88.16-26 yen in New York and 87.95-97 yen in Tokyo Thursday.

    The euro was quoted at 1.4722-4723 dollars and 130.56-60 yen, compared with 1.4725-4735 dollars and 129.89-99 yen in New York and 1.4704-4706 dollars and 129.33-37 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
