LONDON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Arsenal's Mexican striker Carlos Vela has signed a new long term contract, the Premier League club said on their website on Thursday.

    "Let's remember, he is still only 20 years old, so there is still a huge amount to come from this boy. We're looking forward to seeing Carlos score many goals in an Arsenal shirt for a long time to come," Wenger said.

    Vela signed for the north London club in January 2007 and following loan spells in Spain has made 38 first-team appearances, scoring seven goals.

    No details of the contract length were disclosed.
