TOKYO, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar dropped to the lower 89 yen level Tuesday morning in Tokyo.

    The dollar bought 89.07-12 yen at midday, against 89.46-56 yen in New York and 89.83-85 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

    The euro was quoted at 1.4841-4843 dollars and 132.18-19 yen, compared with 1.4822-4832 dollars and 132.64-74 yen in New York and 1.4874-4876 dollars and 133.62-66 yen in Tokyo late Monday.
