    BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- China would continue to adopt the proactive fiscal policy and moderately easy monetary policy next year and endeavor to improve the quality of economic growth, participants at the Central Economic Work Conference agreed Monday.

    Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao addressed the meeting, which is held once a year to set the tone for economic development during the next year, said a statement from the conference. Full story

China vows to promote agriculture development in 2010

    BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government will enhance efforts in 2010 to promote agriculture development, strengthen produce supply to the market, and expand rural demand, participants at the Central Economic Work Conference agreed Monday.

    The government will strengthen rural policies to increase farming-related subsidies, increase incomes of farmers, and expand demand in rural areas, said a statement from the conference. Full story

China to push exports recovery, promote trade balance

    BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government will push recovery of its exports and promote balanced international trade as one of its major tasks next year, the country's senior policymakers agreed at the annual key economic conference on Monday.

    The government would maintain the "continuity" and "stability" of its foreign demand policy, diversify its market strategies, tap into new markets while maintaining old ones in order to promote export growth, they agreed, according to a statement released from the conference. Full story

China vows to promote transformation of development pattern in 2010

    BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government pledged Monday to push forward the transformation of its economic development pattern next year while maintaining stable and comparatively fast economic growth.
