HONG KONG, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Table tennis powerhouse China defended its reputation at the East Asian Games as it beat Japan 3-1 to win the men's team title here on Sunday.

    Beijing Olympics winning team member Wang Hao was stunned by Jun Mizutani 3-0 in the opening match before his teammate Xu Xin clawed one point back by beating Seiya Kishikawa 3-0.

    Zhang Jieke tipped the winning scale to China as he defeated Kaii Yoshida 3-1.

    Xu Xin secured the gold medal by beating Jun Mizutani 3-1.
