GAZA, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Hamas and Fatah movements traded on Friday accusations over carrying out mutual arrests against each other's members in Gaza and the West Bank.
Fatah movement's armed wing al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said in a statement sent to the press that security forces that belong to Hamas Interior Ministry arrested several members of the armed wingin Gaza.
The statement said Hamas forces kidnapped a top militant of al-Aqsa and took him for interrogation, adding that the fate of the arrested militant is still unknown.
Meanwhile, spokesman of Hamas Interior Ministry Ihab al-Ghussein denied the accusations, saying that what had happened wasnot an arrestment as Fatah is trying to show.
"The Interior Ministry just called some people to gather information about a car explosion several days ago which killed anal-Aqsa Brigades member," said al-Ghussein, adding that these people were later released.
He added that Fatah accusations aimed at covering the arrestment, which is carried out on daily bases all over the West Bank against Hamas leaders and members.
Meanwhile, Hamas movement in the West Bank accused Abbas security forces for arresting five Hamas activists in several West Bank towns.
