SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Unification Minister Hyun In-taek will meet with the United Nations Command chiefs and other representatives from neutral nations that oversee the Korean War armistice on the South's side, the ministry's spokesperson said Friday.

According to ministry spokeswoman Lee Jong-joo, Hyun will be holding a meeting with South Korean and U.S. representatives of the UN armistice commission and Swedish and Swiss representatives of the neutral nations' commission at a Seoul hotel later in the day.

The meeting is scheduled to be an informal, closed-door dinner with the UN Command Military Armistice Commission and the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission, held for the purpose of expressing gratitude to them and exchanging view on the current issues, Lee said.

The UN Command Military Armistice Commission was set up after the 1950-53 Korean War to oversee the armistice on the peninsula.
