Mumbai put on alert over terror threat

    NEW DELHI, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Indian police Saturday sounded alert in the financial capital Mumbai after a mysterious letter threatened of multiple bomb blasts in different places, including the Maharashtra governor's residence and chief minister's residence, reported the Press Trust of India.

    Security around the vital installations has been stepped up and thorough checking was on across the city, the report quoted police as saying.

    The letter was received by Churchgate railway station master and it threatened of bomb blasts either on Nov. 14 or Nov. 28, said the report.

    Adequate security measures have also been taken on the occasion Muslim slaughter festival of Bakr Eid Saturday, said the report.¡¡
