Sri Lanka Airforce appoints probe panel over helicopter crash

    COLOMBO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan Airforce has appointed a probe panel to investigate Friday's crashing of an MI24 helicopter.

    Airforce spokesman Janaka Nanayakkara said the panel would investigate the crashing of the gunship and the deaths of all on board - two pilots and two airmen.

    It was on a training mission when it crashed 4 km north of Buttala in the southeastern Moneragala district around 1:30 p.m. local time (0800 GMT).
