TOKYO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell sharply against the yen in Tokyo on Friday, hitting a fresh 14-year low in the upper 84 yen range at one point before it rebounded to the lower 86 yen zone.
At 5 p.m., the dollar fetched 86.15-16 yen compared with Thursday's 5 p.m. quote of 86.78-79 yen in Tokyo. U.S. financial markets were closed Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday. It moved between 84.82 yen, its lowest level since July 1995, and 86.55 yen during the day, changing hands most frequently at 86.00 yen.
The euro traded at 1.4861-4863 dollars and 128.03-07 yen against 1.5089-5090 dollars and 130.95-99 yen in Tokyo late Thursday.
