Algeria reports 3 new death cases of A/H1N1 flu

    ALGIERS, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 50 new cases of A/H1N1 influenza, among which were three deaths, were confirmed on Thursday by the Algerian Health Ministry, bringing the number of confirmed cases of the epidemic in the country to 274.

    The three latest deaths included a 50-year-old woman in the central city of Biskra, a 27-year-old young mother in the northwestern city of Oran and her newborn baby, local media said.

    According to a statement issued by the ministry, the number of the new cases of A/H1N1 in the past three days reached 88, among whom many had traveled back from Khartoum, capital of Sudan, where a World Cup qualification match between Algeria and Egypt was held on Nov. 18.

    The first batch of A/H1N1 vaccines, comprising 900,000 doses, is expected to be transported to Algeria in early December.
