BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang on Thursday said the principle of respecting China's sovereignty and territorial integrity applied to the Taiwan issue.

    Qin made the comment in response to a question concerning the recent remarks of Raymond Burghardt, chairman of the American Institute in Taiwan, at a regular press conference.

    Qin reaffirmed that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory.
