PARIS, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The number of persons infected with A/H1N1 flu has passed 2.7 million, the French influenza surveillance system reported on Wednesday.

    Within a week, French population infected with A/H1N1 flu has increased 712,000 on the mainland, totaling 2,726,000 cases, French Regional Groups of Flu Observation (Grog) said.

    The number of deaths related to swine flu has reached 57 on French mainland, up from 48 three days ago, government's Health Surveillance Institute (InVS) said Monday.

    The epidemic is in process of "full acceleration," presenting rising numbers of acute patients and deadly cases, French Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot said Wednesday, urging parents to support voluntary school vaccination for minor students.

    One day before the government campaign of school vaccination, the swine flu has brought 315 schools nationwide closed, according to the statistics from French Educational Ministry.

    Also on Wednesday, French Interior Ministry said that the current vaccination frequency has reached 65,000 persons one day, a remarkable progress compared to 13,000 persons on the launching day of the national vaccination on Nov. 12.

    Till last weekend, 305,000 French people have received the shot, official data said.
