BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday highlighted the exchanges with South Africa's ruling party African National Congress (ANC).
Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remarks in a meeting with Cyril Ramaphosa, member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC.
"We hope to promote party-to-party exchanges and learn from each other, in a bid to serve the two peoples," Zhou said.
Zhou reviewed his official goodwill visit to South Africa last week at the invitation of the ANC, saying that he had made fruitful exchanges with leaders of the party during that tour.
Ramaphosa and his delegation arrived in Beijing on Sunday for a workshop of the ANC National Executive Committee that will last two weeks in China.
Top CPC and ANC leaders agreed on the South African workshop in China last year. The CPC attached great importance to this cooperation program, Zhou said.
Zhou hoped the workshop would be rewarding for all of the participants. The CPC would also grasp this opportunity to learn from the ANC, he noted.
Ramaphosa spoke highly of the CPC's rich governing experiences, saying that his delegation had learned a lot through this workshop.
The delegation will travel to the western metropolis of Chongqing and the country's financial powerhouse Shanghai at the end of the workshop.
