Hong Kong reports another death case of influenza A/H1N1

    HONG KONG, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong health authorities reported a death case of influenza A/H1N1 on Tuesday, raising the number of such local death cases to 41.

    The death case reported on Tuesday involved a 76-year-old man who had a record of chronic respiratory disease and hypertension, the Hospital Authority said.

    The patient developed flu symptoms on Oct. 30 and sought emergency medical help at a local hospital on the same day. He was hospitalized and became critically ill on Nov. 18 before being put on ventilation support, the Hospital Authority said.

    The patient died on Tuesday morning.

    According to statistics released by the World Health Organization, there had been at least 6,250 deaths of influenza A/H1N1 worldwide as of Nov. 1.
