Chinese FM interviewed by Japanese state broadcaster on various issues

    TOKYO, 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi was interviewed Saturday by Japanese state broadcaster NHK on various issues.

    In the interview, Yang answered questions concerning China's development and its role on the international stage, China-Japan as well as China-U.S. relations, regional cooperation in East Asia and the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

    Also in the day, Yang met separately with former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and Kyoto Prefecture governor Keiji Yamada.

   TOKYO, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Japanese counterpart Katsuya Okada Thursday evening to discuss bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern.

   Yang said after the new government was formed after the Aug. 30general election of Japan, leaders of the two countries have met under many circumstances to reach important consensus on strengthening strategic mutual beneficial relations. The bilateral ties are embracing fresh opportunities of development and a main purpose of his visit is to discuss with the Japanese side how to further improve the relations.Full story

    TOKYO, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Japanese Speaker of the House of Representatives Takahiro Yokomichi and President of the House of Councillors Satsuki Eda on Thursday to discuss bilateral ties.

    Yang said after the new Diet was formed after the Aug. 30 general election of Japan, leaders of the two countries have met under many circumstances to reach important consensus on strategic mutual beneficial relations.
