SHANGHAI, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- The fourth seed Chen Jin from China grabbed 11 straight points in the decisive set to beat eighth-seeded Dwi Kuncoro Sony from Indonesia 21-16, 15-21, 21-12, securing a semifinal spot at China Open badminton on Friday.

Chen delivered terrific attacks, and Sony played wonderful defense to fight back.

The decisive set started with Chen's 6-4 lead. Chen unexpectedly collected 11 straight points to stay 17-4 ahead. Though Sony made use of Chen's error to fight back to 10-17, he failed to surpass Chen after a mistake by himself.

"I recently lost to him once, so today's match was an opportunity for me to revenge," Said Chen after the match. "We are on the same level."

Sony admitted that Chen's performance was better than him in today's match. He felt tired but he didn't think tiredness was the main reason for his failure.

Chen will next meet the winner between Jan Jorgensen from Denmark and Boonsak Ponsana from Thailand.
