Jyoti Upreti walks to school in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, on Oct. 28, 2009. Jyoti Uprety is an 11-year-old girl studying in the 6th grade of a local elementary school in Kathmandu. She lives with her parents and her elder sister in a middle-class family. Her father Prem Uprety works for a shelter run by a social organization for elderly women and her mother Bhagiratha Uprety is a house wife.
