KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- A suicide car bomber struck a military base of NATO-led international troops in Afghanistan's southern Zabul province on Thursday, killing at least one foreign soldier and wounding three others, an Afghan National Army (ANA) officer said.

"The suicide bomber blew up an explosive-laden car near an apparently U.S. military base in Shahjoi district at around 12:30 local time (0800 GMT), killing at least a foreign soldier and wounding three others including a civilian," Ghulam Sarwar, a senior commander of the ANA, told Xinhua.

However, he failed to say the nationality of the victims, saying "The foreign troops immediately sealed off the scene."

No groups or individuals claim the responsibility so far, while such incidents have been carried out by Taliban outfits.

Taliban insurgents continue to engage Afghan security forces and foreign troops with guerrilla-style attacks, besides launching roadside and suicide attacks, across the militancy-hit country.
