SANAA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Yemen is to release an Egyptian fishing vessel along with its crew from captivity and another 11 imprisoned men of Egyptian nationals in the coming days, the Yemeni Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

The Egyptian fishing vessel with its crew has been held for nearly two months in captivity by the Yemeni Coast-guard in al-Hudaidah port on the Red Sea over what authorities say illegally entering into the Yemeni territorial waters.

Security authorities have also decided to release in the coming days 11 jailed men of Egyptian nationals accused of exercising several criminal acts in Yemen.

It is not immediately clear if the 11 Egyptian detainees have faced trials, or where they are enjailed.

"This step comes under the framework of bolstering the distinguished brotherly cooperation between Yemen and Egypt," the ministry said in a press release posted on its website.

Up to 16 Egyptian fishermen were set free two weeks ago after authorities charged them with illegally crossing the territorial waters of Yemen without permission.
