RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Fluminense sailed into the South American Cup final Wednesday by scoring twice in injury time to beat Paraguay's Cerro Porteno 2-1 and advanced on an aggregate score of 3-1.

Midfielder Luis Caceres opened the scoring for Porteno in the 6th minute.

The score stayed that way until the injury time when defender Gum struck home, and two minutes later Alan dribbled past the opposing goalkeeper and drove the ball into a wide-open net.

With time remaining in the game, both teams were quite aggressive and emotional, causing a bench clearing brawl that eventually would end the game. The only player to be punished as a result of the fight was Fluminense's Dieginho, who will be unable to play in the first match of the final.

The team from Rio de Janeiro awaits the result of Thursday's semifinal match between River Plate, from Uruguay, and LDU, from Ecuador.

Wednesday's victory amounted to Fluminense's seventh-straight victory and their 12th consecutive game without losing. The team's next challenge will be on November 22 when they travel to play Sport in the 36th round of play in this year's Brazilian soccer championship.
