SEOUL, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- South Korea on Wednesday reported 18additional death cases related to A/H1N1 flu, raising the country's death toll from the new contagious disease to 82.
Among the latest victims, 16 people were considered as "high-risk" patients, while two others, including an 11-year-old girl and a 42-year-old man, were not, according to the government's central disaster relief headquarters.
The 11-year-old girl began to show flu-like symptoms on Oct. 30,and has been treated with antiviral drug since Nov. 4, but died on Nov. 6 as her conditions kept deteriorating, while the 42-year-oldman, who began to show symptoms on Oct. 19, died on Nov. 2 after taking antiviral drug from Oct. 26, the health authorities said.
Out of the 82 who died from new flu, 69 patients were regarded as "high-risk" patients and 13 others were not, it added.
