Ta'er Monastery is a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery located in a narrow valley about 17 miles southwest of Xining City in Qinghai Province. It is a wonderful architectural complex that contains 9,300 structures, including scripture halls, Buddha halls, lamas'residences, and Buddhist pagodas. Butter sculptures, frescoes and padded embroidery are the three highlights of the monastery. (Photo: Global Times)
