PARIS, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The French gross domestic product (GDP) gained a 0.3-percent growth in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, mainly thanks to resilience in domestic industry and exportation, the official statistics bureau Insee announced on Friday.

The exportation gained a large increase of 2.3 percent, while the importation slightly grew by 0.4 percent in the July-September period. Foreign trade has contributed 0.4 point to GDP growth, Insee said.

The gross industrial production also rose 0.5 percent compared to the second quarter.

French economy finally recovered to a positive growth of 0.3 percent in the second quarter following four consecutive declines since last year's April-June period.

Economic Minister Christine Lagarde has foreseen a continuous growth in the last quarter of this year. The French Central Bank also forecast recently a 0.5-percent growth for the fourth quarter.

If the above forecast can be realized in the final three months, French economy will end by a 2.25-percent contraction just as the government's earlier prediction for the whole year.
