HAVANA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Cuban sportsmen Hermes Riveri, Leandro Penalver, Jose Godoy and Blas Beato will join the Central America and the Caribbean Athletics Hall of Fame, local media said on Thursday.
With them being included, the number of Cubans in Hall will reach 30, comprising of athletes, coaches and sports directives.
Riveri, 80, stood out for many decades as discus coach and among the sportsmen he coached are Maritza Marten and Luis Mariano Delis, both medalists at the Olympic Games.
Penalver was an Pan American Champion in Caracas 1983 and Havana 1991, who is considered one of best sprinters Cuba ever had in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m trails.
Meanwhile, already dead Godoy stood out as coach of high jump, who coached Javier Sotomayor. Beato, coach of sprinters, trained Ana Fidelia Quirot.
