BEIJING, Nov. 12 -- President Hu Jintao has arrived in Singapore for a state visit and to attend the Economic Leaders Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. He arrives after wrapping up his visit to Malaysia.
Earlier today, President Hu Jintao and Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, met to discuss furthering bilateral relations.
Hu Jintao said China-Malaysia relations have developed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic relations 35 years ago, with fruitful cooperation in various fields. He noted that Malaysia has become China's largest trading partner among ASEAN members.

Hu Jintao suggested that the two countries deepen cooperation in various fields, including economies, trade, regional defense, education and tourism.
For his part, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, said he fully agrees with President Hu's suggestions of pushing forward cooperation. He said Malaysia is willing to work with China to further develop strategic and cooperative relations.
The meeting also saw the signing of a number of cooperation deals between the two countries.
