Fire prevention law cartoons distributed to Tibet residents

    BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Brochures on Fire Prevention Law Cartoon designed by Tibet's Fire Brigade have been distributed to residents throughout the region for free.

    Different from traditional ones, the brochure explains the fire prevention law via cartoon stories, in addition to introduction to the basic knowledge on fires, fire prevention, extinguisher usage and first aid in simple Han and Tibetan languages.

    An official of the fire brigade said that the brochures have been well received by the residents, for the lively contents are easy to understand and remember.

450 college students in Tibet become volunteer firefighters

    BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- A total of 450 college students in Tibet have received training to become volunteer firefighters, according to Lhasa Evening News.

    The Rights and Interests Department of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Communist Youth League Committee enrolled volunteer firefighters from colleges and universities in Tibet.  Full story
