WARSAW, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his visiting Lithuanian President Dalya Grybauskaite, who is attending Poland's Independence Day ceremonies, held talks here Wednesday on bilateral relations.
The two presidents resolved to hold patronage over the 600th anniversary celebrations of the Grunwald Battle. "I think this is of symbolic importance, something the two nations achieved together," said Kaczynski.
The Polish and Lithuanian knights defeated the Teutonic Knights in the battle of Grunwald in 1410.
Kaczynski said he hoped his meetings with Grybauskaite would be as frequent as were meetings with former President Valdas Adamkus.
Grybauskaite said the two nations should jointly pursue their interests in the EU. "There are issues I need to discuss with President Kaczynski face to face, like the energy situation in Europe and political interests in the EU," she added.
