PYONGYANG, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- French president's special envoy to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) arrived in Pyongyang on Monday, the official news agency KCNA said.

Jack Lang, appointed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Oct. 1, will study such issues as the relations between France and the Korean Peninsula and the nuclear issue.

He was also expected to write a report based on his findings on the peninsular and propose ways to manage these issues for the French president and the foreign minister, so as to analyze the circumstances under which France would consider establishing diplomatic relations with the DPRK.
